SUPPORT AT HOME

Our Floating Support service also called Support at Home, is designed to help prevent people from becoming homeless by providing support to those who have been identified as at risk of becoming homeless in their current accommodation.

We offer an approach tailored to the needs of the person. This can include support with:

  • Finances, i.e accessing the right benefits

  • Obtaining work, i.e applying for jobs, writing a CV

  • Household skills, i.e shopping on a budget, meal planning and preparation

  • Health and hygiene, i.e registering with a GP

  • Social skills, i.e accessing support groups

AIM OF OUR FLOATING SERVICE

The aim is that it will enable people to live as independently as possible, with access to housing-related support from staff whenever necessary. We give one-to-one support to each person, all designed around their individual needs, aims and ambitions.

HOW IT WORKS

People accessing our service are allocated a Housing Support Worker who they meet with on an appointment system. Support is available from 9am to 5pm, five days a week, although when there is a planned need outside of these hours support can be offered on an occasional basis.

All support offered is service-user led, meaning that they can meet with staff as often or as little as they like, up until all issues are resolved.
